The Evil Queen in Snow White

The evil queen Grimhilde, and her twin sister Gwendoline, grew up rich and could have anything their hearts desired. Their mother and father ruled over the kingdom. Even though Grimhilde could have anything she wanted, she just wanted her parents love. Gwendoline was always favored by her parents, they treated her like she was the only child. In doing this, it made Grimhilde act out. This began to make others dislike her. As she grew older and started going to school she noticed that people would flock to her sister. Her sister always popular and had friends and boyfriends. Grimhilde didn't have any of that which made her start to resent her sister.
When they became adults it got worse, Gwendoline found love while Grimhilde was watching her sister have the life she always wanted. Then a couple of months later Grimhilde found out that she couldn't ever have children. She was torn to pieces. Just when she thought it couldn't get worse, her sister announced that she was pregnant. Out of jealousy, she killed her sister and took the baby as her own. After the funeral, Gwendoline's husband disappeared, and Grimhilde became the queen. At last, she could have the life that she always wanted.

Hero-Understanding Beowulf

Heroes has always been a common theme in stories, it's always a fight between good versus evil. In Beowulf the same theme is occurring. A major role that Beowulf plays is that it is the foundation of the English language we know today. In today's times we think of heros that are concerned about others and do what's right. Typically people today don't have to have a lineage of people that were great. That's the exact opposite of how it was in the old English time period. To be somebody back then they had to have a list of extraordinary things they did and people that they come from. To good was to only add to the list of great things they have done, not because they actually wanted to.
It doesn't matter how strong somebody is or how smart they are. They just have to want to do good things for people which makes them a hero to me. Strong people can have the ability to do certain physical abilities others can't; if they just want to do good to make themselves look better them that makes them selfish. There are also some people so brilliant, but they don't want to use their intellect to help others. It takes some one who has good morals, selflessness, courage, and qualities such as those to be heros.

Old English vs. Modern English

Old English came about 600-1150 AD. Even though there are different forms of Old English, there are only 3000 text. This means that there is less to work with, and makes it hard for there to be an exact understanding of the words. Due to the pronunciation, rhymes, and  repetition of sounds it makes it easier. Since the letters and sounds are related, the alphabet is less difficult and reading old English becomes easier.
With that, we can compare it to Modern English. They do have their differences. For instance, then first symbol in old English is where the stress is applied in most cases. They also have their similarities like if there is a double constant then they are either doubled or long. Even though Old and Modern English are far apart in time periods, they do have their similarities.

Part VI My life: Product of USA

The slow food movement has changed my life. It all started when I was in college, fast food was my go to. I always stopped by a fast food restaurant in between my class, when I was studying, or when I was just bored and hungry. I always came up with the excuse that I don't have time t cook and it's too time consuming, but with that the health problems became to accumulate. Doing simple tasks like walking to my classes began to have me winded by the time I got to my class. I needed a change, I couldn't live like that anymore. That's when I found the slow food movement, it "encourages people to slow down cook, and enjoy food"(Timmerman 238). After I did this for a couple of months, my walks to class got easier. I was able to do more than I could ever do before.
I got encourage to eat healthy and actually research my health choices. I haven't eaten at a fast food place since the movement. It really has given me the strength to eat like I should. When I tell people o haven't eaten out at restaurants since the movement, they look at me crazy. Like they've seen  a ghost or something. Even though they look at me like that, they also look at the progress that I have made. Then they come and ask me how I did it and I explain to them what the movement is. They tell me it's hard at first and how they're so busy. I just tell them that if they put their minds to it they too can live a healthier lifestyle.

Part V Apple juice:product of Michigan China

Farming has been my life ever since I was a little boy. I watched my dad farm and learned from him. Hopefully I can teach my son how to farm just as good as me. The apple farming market is so good right now but my son feels as though he should go into a different field of work. I truly am disappointed because I wanted to pass on the farming business for generations to come. It's a good way to make money because "when China entered the U.S. Apple juice market, the price of juice apples fell from from $153 a ton in 1995 to $55 a ton in 1998. Twenty years ago the United States grew more apples than China. Today, China grows 15 times more-about half the worlds apples"(Timmerman 204). Growing apples is a great way to make a living and I don't see why my son would want to do anything else.
With Apple farming, I can earn a decent living. I can afford luxuries that I wouldn't be able to afford if I worked somewhere else. The business has grown so much and it keeps growing. I would love to keep farming for the rest of my life, but I'm getting too old to keep farming. I've already taught my son everything I know about farming, so it would be hard to try and teach all of that to someone else. I just want my son to have a good life like I have, and apple farming is a guaranteed way to have a good life. If he wanted to he could be making as much as me and the other farmers in China. "We used to have to pay [480] to [640] per hectare to the government and now they pay us! Ten years ago my 10 hectares produced [3,200] to [4,800] worth of apples. Now they produce [32,000]. Forty percent of that goes to fertilizer, but the remaining 60 percent is ours"(Timmerman 221). My son could live the life that I want him to live if he farms because Apple farming is a growing business that could give him an amazing income.
